Due to runway refurbishment works at the Nordholz Naval Airbase, the German Central Command for Maritime Emergencies (CCME) is stationing one of its two Do228-type maritime surveillance aircraft in Bremerhaven, at the local airport Bremerhaven-Luneort. In 2011 a Do228NG was equipped with OPTIMARE’s airborne maritime surveillance system MEDUSA in conjunction with its own and 3rd-party sensors.

The aircraft is expected to stay in its temporary accommodation in Bremerhaven until the beginning of 2015.
