On 2 November 2013, the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of B.C., Canada, held their 25th annual Technology Awards banquet. Aqua-Guard's Co-founder Nigel Bennett was awarded the 2013 Advanced Technology award for Aqua-Guard's RBS Triton oil skimming technology.

Advanced Technology Award aims to acknowledge advancements in technology and the contributions made by individuals, business, industry and government, to promote pioneer efforts in technology and to recognise the application and adaptation of advanced technology to new uses.
