Response Monitoring from the Sky
Source:     Editor:     Date: 2013-11-1

In situations where fast response is needed, monitoring from the sky using a UAV can be a solution. The ING Robotic Aviation’s Responder has the capability of vertical take-off and landing which makes its operational footprint small. It can be used for high-definition stills and video georeferencing, making it suitable for environmental monitoring and inspection.

The vehicle can remain airborne for 20-24 minutes according to its manufacturer, and the radio line of sight for controlling it is 10km. The payload for sensors or a camera is 3kg. This makes it suitable for various aerial monitoring and control scenarios from inspections to assistance, such as in the case of an emergency or an offshore spill whereby instant aerial imagery is needed but the cost of traditional aircraft is too high or the time for deployment takes too long.(spill-international.com, Edited by Topco)
