The Monte Arucas tanker has joined EMSA’s network of standby-oil spill response vessels after passing the acceptance test held in Ferrol, Spain on 3 and 4 July 2013. The vessel owned by Sertosa Norte and operated by Naviera Urbasa brings an additional 2,940m3 of storage capacity to the network as well as oil recovery equipment, including a high capacity skimmer, ocean oil boom, rigid sweeping arms and oil slick detection system.
